Health and Safety
Whilst attending courses at the Lifelong Learning Service Premises your safety is our concern therefore we have established a number of rules that we would like you to adhere to during your training.
- Emergency alarms are installed within the Lifelong Learning Service and evacuation routes displayed. In addition to alarms, there is a strobe light in the training room and W.C.s to alert learners with a hearing impairment. Learners and staff have a responsibility to familiarise themselves with the evacuation routes. Assistance will be provided under special circumstances.
- Corridors forming part of the evacuation route must be kept clear and no materials etc. should be stored near the fire exit.
- On hearing the fire alarm, staff and learners should vacate the building via the designated emergency route only.
- Please Note: Alarm system tests are conducted every monday morning at 10.30.
- In the unlikely event of an accident, please advise the course tutor who will arrange for you to see the nominated first aider.
- All accidents resulting in injury, however slight, must be reported to the course tutor or safety officer.
- The Lifelong Learning Service operates a no smoking policy throughout the building.
- To ensure effective communication during the training process, all mobile phones must be de-activated before training commences.
- If you have any special health requirements, please let the course tutor know at the earliest possible opportunity.
